Program Outcomes

PO1. Possesses advanced theoretical and practical knowledge supported by textbooks, application tools, and other resources containing current information in the field.

PO2. Uses advanced theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the field.

PO3. Uses advanced knowledge and skills acquired in the field to interpret and evaluate data, identify and analyze problems, and develop evidence-based solutions.

PO4. Independently conducts advanced research in the field.

PO5. Takes responsibility as an individual and team member for solving complex and unforeseen problems encountered in applications related to their field.

PO6. Plans and manages activities for the development of employees under their responsibility within the framework of a project.

PO7. Evaluates the advanced knowledge and skills they have acquired in their field with a critical approach.

PO8. Identifies learning needs and directs learning.

PO9. Develops a positive attitude toward lifelong learning.

PO16. Has sufficient awareness of the universality of social rights, social justice, quality culture, and the protection of cultural values, as well as environmental protection, occupational health, and safety issues.

Program Teaching Objectives

TO1 - To provide students with a level of historical knowledge that enables them to analyze historical events using scientific methods and make objective assessments.

TO2 - To enable students to read written documents used in historical research and to understand and interpret archaeological and cultural remains.

TO3 - To enable students to achieve the competence to conduct comparative analyses of Turkish and world history by teaching at least one foreign language.

TO4 - To enable students to acquire the ability to effectively use information technologies in the process of accessing information.

TO5 - To raise individuals who have internalized ethical values, can evaluate current national and global developments from a historical perspective, and can develop a critical view of events and facts.

TO6 - To enable graduates who meet the necessary academic requirements to continue their postgraduate education in various sub-fields of history (Ancient History, Medieval History, General Turkish History, Modern History, Contemporary History, Ottoman Civilization and Institutions History) and pursue an academic career.

TO7 - To enable students who have gained proficiency in Ottoman Turkish to reach a level where they can work in various national and international archives, particularly the Ottoman Archives.

TO8 - To support graduates who have completed the pedagogical training program in becoming teachers in the public and private sectors.

TO9 - To develop scientific thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills by providing an interdisciplinary perspective through elective courses from different disciplines in line with the general objectives of the Turkish higher education system.

TO10 - To equip graduates with the qualifications necessary for employment in public institutions where a bachelor`s degree is sufficient.
